History
While riding with Milligan Stables here in the Dallas area, our founder ordered several pairs of Kentucky Jodhpurs and was truly disappointed in the product. She didn't like the way they fit or the fabrics that were available. The waist was literally up to her chest and was unbearably uncomfortable. It was obvious that style, fit and fashion were still absent from equestrian wear. At that point she decided to marry her two passions (riding and fashion) and started JazzyJods. She went to the drawing board and worked for an entire year perfecting the patterns, then she went on a search for the best fabrics and manufacturing facilities. The first product was introduced in March 2003 at the PinOak Horse Show in Houston Texas and JazzyJods have been a hit ever sense.
Acquisition
The company has evolved over the last year because of the economy situation and has entered into a venture with Equestrian Designs, Inc. of Dallas TX. EDI purchased a majority portion of JazzyJods and has provided the funding and management to take the company even further. EDI has expertise growing entrepreneurial companies through first class management, advanced technology and customer support. With the new venture between JazzyJods and EDI, we will be able to constantly improve the product with new upscale fabrics and more exclusive high-end designs. We’re excited about our future in this industry and have many plans on the drawing board to bring our product to even more of the public. Internet polls, Facebook and Twitter will allow us to have a close watch on our customers and what their needs and wants are.
The Fabrics
All of our fabrics are made of a cotton/lycra blend so they breathe and comfortably stretch with the rider. These fabrics are 4-way stretch, water repellent and moisture wicking. They are all machine washable, even with the Ultrasuede knee patches. We use the same fabric sources as The Gap, American Apparel, Tommy Hilfiger, True Religion, 7 for All Mankind, Ralph Lauren, etc. Our athletic lines have fabric imported from the athletic suppliers of Italy.
The Fit
The “low rise” jod simply means that the waistline starts with the waist, not under the chest. They are not a “low-riders” cut. The waistline is constructed using a comfortable, stretchy elastic that allows the rider 2 inches of essential breathing room. We have also taken the “bagginess” out of the crotch area of the standard jods and thus our jodsds fit more like a normal pant. They are very figure flattering for ALL body types.
The Construction
JazzyJods are proudly constructed here in the U.S.A, actually here in the Dallas, TX area. As a large fashion center, Dallas has provided us with all the resources that other companies have to part-out overseas. This allows us to inspect the construction at every step, insuring high quality control. The knee patches are triple stitched in two different types of stitching so they won't pop-open if the leg is too tight or the rider has to stretch when mounting or dismounting. These are designed by riders for riders.
The Original Low-Rise Jodhpur, JazzyJods is one of the freshest ideas to be introduced into the saddleseat riding world! We were chosen as one of the "Top Ten Christmas Gifts " by the National Horseman. Most of our customers claim they have thrown out all of their other jods and only ride in ours! We're sure you'll find these the best jods you've ever worn!
